Rhubarb leaves are toxic to humans. Can anyone please confirm whether birds eat the leaves and whether the leaves are also toxic to them? I have found three dead birds on my property in the last 2 days.

I grow rhubarb in my chicken run and the chooks do not touch it.

We feed the leaves to our chickens. It doesn't seem to do them any harm.

I can't believe you actually feed your chickens rhubarb!! I'm sorry but I don't believe you. I've accidentally lost two bantams when they ate it in the garden and the compost heap. I will never grow it again because of this. YES usually chickens will leave it alone but it only takes a few pecks if they're hungry. The next most toxic plant to feed birds is avocado.
