more eco friendly foundations for housesReader submitted

Hello all
We are currently researching options for a new build down here in Christchurch. As I am not really liking the whole traditional polystyrene waffle slab I was looking for a more eco friendly version. The beads of the polystyrene when cut can fly everywhere and polystyrene also has the chemical HBCD in it and that has been linked to cancer. I would just like to know if anyone used a more eco friendly version of a traditional waffle slab?
