Carbon credits and forestryReader submitted

Our family has a forestry plantation set up for retirement funds, the first 'crop' is a few years from harvest and the funds made from this are for my parents' retirement and to replant the next crop for the future retirement of their children. A great idea for the family. However, lately the discussions over carbon credits has been confusing. There are strict rules for the replant and use of land that has once been used as forestry should one day it revert to farming. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get more information regarding this? Some family members have conflicting information and it would be good to set the record straight.
