Artemis is a New Zealand natural health company, that offers a truly natural range. Our formulations are based on traditional Swiss herbal remedies that have been refined for today’s common health issues. Our range includes health teas, oral liquid supplements and remedial body care products. We use certified organic ingredients, sourcing our herbs from New Zealand and from specialised organic growers in Europe. 

Artemis was founded in 1998 by Sandra Clair, a registered Medical Herbalist who grew up in Switzerland where natural healthcare is a living tradition and normal part of modern medicine. As well as her extensive list of qualifications in Medical Anthropology and Health Science, Sandra spent three years training with renowned nun – Sister Pauline – an experienced herbalist and midwife who initiated her into many of the revered secrets of Traditional European Medicine.

This apprenticeship enabled Sandra to study within the pristine Swiss Alps where she was taught the proper way to collect, compound and prescribe herbs. It culminated with the passing of a rare Renaissance Materia Medica, a medical book from 1588 that offers much inspiration for her research and recipes. With an ancient lineage passed down to her, Sandra learned the art of integrating proven herbal wisdom and modern scientific principles to unlock the healing properties of plants.

Artemis has never been a business focused solely on financial gains. We are driven by the genuine desire to make it easy and pleasurable to look after our own health, without risk to our bodies or our precious environment.

Unlike mass produced remedies, all of our ingredients are grown sustainably, without harmful toxic herbicides or pesticides. We obtain annual organic certification from BioGro.
